Janseva was founded on 24th April 1996 as a non-government organization with a mission of assisting the tribal population in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra in the field of education and rural development. In 2007 it extended its work beyond our home district. Our primary focus is on empowering the vulnerable section of the communty, more particularly the women, elderly and children. Janseva is thriving to enhance the quality and dignity of lives.

Janseva GraminVikasVaShikshan Pratishthan, meaning society for rural development and education, is a development organization was founded with the central goal to bring women and the marginalised population into the center stage of local governance and development processes. Janseva is playing a key role as a facilitating organization opens up strategic spaces for participation of grassroots women’s collectives on one hand, build and strengthen organizational capabilities through self education, participation in local planning and governance mechanisms, demonstration and scaling up of initiatives and forging resource linkages with institutional actors.

We work with government bodies, international organization like UNICEF, Indo-German Watershed Development and NABARD in various initiatives in empowering women, reducing the rate of school dropouts, improving farm practices and strengthening grassroots organization with a view to fostering sustainable development and improving livelihoods. We have been an active partner with NABARD in developing watersheds in Chandrapur, Yavatmal and Wardha districts.

A distinguishing feature of Janseva is the strong grassroots level field network with a vast base of knowledge of local resources. This is supported with a managerial team endowed with wide variety of conceptual and management skills for project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation

Key Achievements

  • The Chandrapur model for Healthcare of Elderly was presented in the Govt. of India’s “Best, Innovative and Replicable Practices Summit, 2019” by Govt. of Maharashtra and Tata Trusts (MoHFWGoI 2019)
  • The Chandrapur model for Healthcare of Elderly was featured as a best practice in GoI’sAyushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre Report (Apr 2018-Sep2019) (MoHFW; GoI 2019).
  • Working with tribal children for Child rights and protection in 135 villages in Kelapur block with the support of UNICEF.
  • 500 Village volunteer cadres have developed for working with 0 to 18 year children.
  • Establishing supplementary teaching classes in 16 villages of Yavatmal block through Tata Trusts for Improving Learning Outcomes in Primary Schools and Facilitating Skill Development of Youth in Yavatmal Block.
  • Formed 650 SHGs and 10000 women members involved in Kelapur tribal block of Yavatmal district.

  • 5000 Women linked with Tata AIG Life Micro insurance programme in Kelapur block.
  • Watershed Management work in 35 villages of Wardha, Yavatmal and Hingoli district in 14800 Hq. Area
  • 616 Youths promote for various vocational skills training and apply for the training. Support 10000 SHGs members for livelihood activity.
 
  • Through training 1367 women on financial literacy, digital literacy and financial inclusion, all women digital transactions have been started.
  • By training 1000 gardeners in 80 villages of Yavatmal district, they are getting healthy vegetables by preparing their gardens, thereby saving their cost of bringing vegetables from the market and thereby improving their health.
  • Covid-19 Dry Ration Kit Distribution in 1500 Families during Covid-19 Pandemic situation.
  • 100% Vaccination completed in 5 PHCs of Yavatmal block.
  • Janseva has been Running Vocation skill training program at Pandharkawada on Electronics, Motor Mechanic, Beauty Parlor, Sewing Machine and Computer Skills through MAHARASHTRA STATE SKILL DEVELOPEMENT SOCIETY and District Industrial Center with 200 youths (Girls and Boys). Ø 50 youth started own business and earn 10000/- PM Ø 42 Youth got the job in various place and earn 8 to 10 thousand PM.
  • Under the Skill Development Scheme, 200 boys and girls were trained in sewing, computers, shoe parlour, nursing and two wheeler repair and provided employment to them.
  • 500 elderly people have been trained in Bag, Rakhi, Greeting Card, Diya making and are continuing to make things through that.
  • 1000 women were trained in goat business, poultry farming, vegetable and market management and out of them 115 women’s businesses have been established.
